How to Cast to a DLNA TV from Your Phone
Install Video & TV Cast for DLNA on your iPhone, iPad or Android phone. With the phone and the TV on the same Wi-Fi, tap the cast icon and pick your TV or media player. Then open a website in the app, play the video and tap the video link below the browser.

1. Connect
Put your phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi. Tap the cast icon in the app and pick your TV or media player. Nothing needs to be installed on the TV.
2. Open Website
Open a website in the built-in browser of the app, for example YouTube, and start the video.
3. Tap to Cast
Tap the video link below the browser. The video now plays on your TV and your phone stays free.
DLNA explained
DLNA stands for Digital Living Network Alliance. It is a set of industry standards and protocols that enable devices to share media content over a home network. DLNA allows different devices, such as TVs, smartphones, computers and media servers to communicate and stream media files seamlessly. TVs and other devices with integrated DLNA typically have the green DLNA badge on it.
The purpose of DLNA is to create a unified ecosystem where devices from different manufacturers can interoperate and share media content. By adhering to DLNA guidelines, devices can discover, connect, and stream media files without compatibility issues.

DLNA Casting Questions
What is DLNA?
DLNA is a standard that lets devices in your home network share videos, music and photos. Many Smart TVs, Blu-ray players and media players have a DLNA player built in. It is sometimes called media player, media renderer or home network sharing.
How do I know if my TV has DLNA?
Look for DLNA, media player, media renderer or home network sharing in the settings or the manual of your TV. Or tap the cast icon in the app: if your TV shows up in the list, it has DLNA. You can also check your TV.
Do I need to install anything on my TV?
No. The media player of the TV plays the video. On some TVs you must first turn on DLNA or media sharing in the settings.
Can I cast from iPhone and Android?
Yes. Video & TV Cast for DLNA is available for iPhone and iPad on the App Store and for Android phones and tablets on Google Play.
Why does the app not find my TV?
Make sure the TV is on and on the same Wi-Fi as your phone, and that DLNA or media sharing is turned on in the TV settings. Finding the TV can take a few minutes. If it still does not show up, restart the app, then restart your phone and the Wi-Fi router.
Why does the connection close after a while?
To save battery, the connection closes on its own after 5 minutes without activity. Tap the cast icon to connect again.
A video does not play on my TV. What do I do?
DLNA TVs only play the video formats they know, and older TVs know fewer. Try another video or another quality. If the error stays, exit the app, restart it and connect again.
Can I cast Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+?
No. These services protect their videos with DRM, so no casting app can send them. Use the Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+ app on your TV instead.
Can I cast my own videos and photos?
Yes. Video & TV Cast also sends videos and photos from your phone or tablet to the TV. The free version casts some of your own media, Premium makes it unlimited.
Is Video & TV Cast for DLNA free?
The app is free to download and shows ads. Premium features like the Ad-Blocker and unlimited own media are one-time purchases. There is no subscription.
